MICHAEL KNUDSON ‘07
 
The Joseph and Mary Abell ’54 Endowed Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Michael graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He posted a 3.65 grade point average.  He served in Squadron 3 of the Corps of Cadets in many leadership capacities.  Michael received the prestigious Buck Weirus Spirit Award in 2007 and graduated with many other academic honors. He is now back on campus completing another bachelor’s degree in Biology and will graduate again in May 2009. Michael has volunteered to help others throughout his Corps of Cadet years and has completed many, many hours of health care volunteer hours.
 
 
AMANDA HOWE ‘09
 
The Susan Luehr ’84 Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Amanda Howe has compiled a perfect 4.0 grade point average and is a pre-medical student from Grapevine, Texas. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biology and is a Regent’s Scholar. Amanda has financed her college education by working sometimes thirty hours a week during the school year. In summer 2007 she was an intern at Parkland Hospital in the Collegiate Fellows Program. In 2008 she was selected to be a part of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. 
 
 
EMILY WALKER ‘09
 
The Susan Luehr ’84 Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Emily Walker is a senior Animal Science major from Cypress, Texas. She holds a 3.85 grade point average. She has shadowed seven different physicians since coming to college and served on the TAMU Wool Judging Team where she placed 12 times in different contests. Currently Emily is a member of the prestigious Aggie Wrangler Dance Team and Kappa Delta sorority, where she has held two leadership positions.
 
 
CRAIG LILIE ‘09
 
The Mark Barhorst ’88 Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Craig Lilie is a senior Biology major with a perfect 4.0 grade point average from Columbus, Texas. He is an Eagle Scout who has served the community as a youth soccer club coach for over four years. Craig has served on the College of Science Dean’s Advisory Panel and has spent multiple years on the staff of Aggies Selflessly Serving in Shaping Tomorrow.
 
 
JESSICA WARD ‘09
 
The Mark Barhorst ’88 Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Jessica Ward is a 3.95 grade point average pre-medical student from Houston, Texas. She is a Biomedical Science major who is in the Joint Admission Medical Program. Therefore she has completed summer internships at two medical schools, UT-Houston and TCOM. Jessica is a Regent’s Scholar. She recently went on a medical mission trip to Mexico for one week where she translated Spanish and took medical histories.
 
 
MORIAH THOMPSON ‘09
The James & Norma J. Rosborough Foundation Endowed Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Moriah is a senior Biomedical Engineering student from Richardson, Texas. She currently holds a 3.78 grade point average and is minoring in Spanish. Since coming to Texas A&M she has been very heavily involved in research as she has served as the primary and secondary author on two papers in Earth and Space. In the summer of 2007 she interned at NASA and designed a closed circuit portable breathing apparatus for emergency use on the International Space Station. Moriah is also a part of the Texas A&M Symphonic Band.
 
 
BRIAN CASE ‘08
The Walter S. McGregor Endowed Scholarship
Pre-Dental Student
 
Brian is a senior pre-dental Kinesiology major from Plano, Texas. His undergraduate grade point average is a 3.91. Brian has been very involved in the Texas A&M Men’s Club Soccer Team for over three years. He currently serves as the Vice President of the group. In the College of Education he was awarded as the Outstanding Junior and in the summer of 2006 Brian participated in the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program in Houston where he attended rigorous courses and was able to observe several dentists.
 
 
WINSTON FALTINE ‘08
 
The TAMU Medical & Dental Society Endowed Scholarship
Pre-Dental Student
 
Winston is a senior pre-dental student who is majoring in Biology. He currently holds a 3.72 grade point average and returned this summer from an internship at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where he conducted research in dental health. He has also traveled to California to attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students and attended several Texas Mission of Mercy dental mission trips throughout Texas. Winston grew up in a small town in Venezuela and now hails from Houston.
 
 
JARED LEE ‘09
 
The Robert Walker Best Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Pre-Medical Student
 
Jared Lee is a senior pre-medical student majoring in Molecular/Cell Biology. He holds a 3.9 grade point average. Jared hails from Houston, Texas, and has shadowed physicians in all areas including a trauma surgeon, gastrointestinal surgeon, a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon and pediatrician. For the past two summers he has participated in the MD Anderson Cancer Center Research program where he worked in clinical studies on treatments for esophageal cancer. Jared truly enjoys cancer research and hopes to carry on with this passion throughout medical school.
